Syed Nasir Hussain Shah briefed Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on solar projects, urging action on frozen funds.

Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah met with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Zardari House to provide a comprehensive briefing on the progress of solar energy initiatives in Sindh. The meeting focused on the advancements made in promoting renewable energy in the province, highlighting the government’s commitment to sustainable development.

Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah informed Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari about the various solar energy projects currently underway, aimed at reducing Sindh’s reliance on traditional energy sources and addressing the province’s energy needs through environmentally friendly solutions. He outlined the steps taken by the provincial government to expand solar power infrastructure, including the installation of solar panels in public buildings, rural areas, and other key sectors.

However, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah also expressed concerns regarding the challenges hindering the progress of these projects, particularly the issue of frozen development funds. He explained that several vital development initiatives, including those related to solar energy, have been stalled due to the lack of funding. These delays have caused setbacks in the completion of critical infrastructure projects, directly impacting the welfare of the people of Sindh.

To address this issue, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah requested Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to intervene and engage with the federal government to expedite the release of the frozen development funds. He emphasized that the timely restoration of these funds is crucial for the continuation of essential projects and for preventing further hardships for the people of Sindh. The minister stressed that the delay in funding is not only affecting solar energy projects but also other key development efforts across the province.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari acknowledged the concerns raised by Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and assured him of his full support. He emphasized the importance of promoting renewable energy in Sindh and reiterated the PPP’s commitment to the province’s development. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari agreed to take up the matter with the federal government and to push for the swift release of the necessary funds, ensuring that development projects can resume without further delay.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing Sindh’s solar energy initiatives and addressing the financial obstacles that threaten to impede the province’s progress.
