The Sindh Government, under the leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the visionary direction of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has delivered on its promise to bring light to every home in the province. In a significant move to address the challenges of expensive electricity and frequent load shedding, the Sindh Government has announced the first phase of the Benazir Solar Program. This initiative will provide 100 units of free electricity to 200,000 low-income families, marking a critical step towards energy independence and sustainability for the most vulnerable segments of society.

As part of this program, families will receive solar panels, three LED bulbs, 35 WDC fans, and a six-hour battery backup. This phase is just the beginning, with plans already in place to extend the benefits to 500,000 more families in the second phase. These efforts are not just about reducing electricity bills; they are about empowering communities and fulfilling the PPP’s election manifesto, as envisioned by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The government is also making strides in developing solar parks across Sindh, which will provide 300 units of free electricity to those in need. This commitment to renewable energy is further demonstrated by projects in the coastal areas of Sindh, where wind corridors will be harnessed to generate electricity for villages through micro wind turbines. Areas such as Thatta, Badin, and Karachi’s islands, including Baba Bhatt and others, will be illuminated by these innovative energy solutions.

Additionally, the government is exploring other schemes to bring electricity to remote villages using a combination of conventional and solar energy sources. These comprehensive efforts highlight the Sindh Government’s dedication to ensuring that no corner of the province is left in darkness.

Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has played a pivotal role in advancing these projects. His efforts have been instrumental in realizing the vision of a brighter, more energy-secure Sindh. Through his leadership, the province is set to become a model of renewable energy adoption, proving that with the right policies and commitment, it is possible to overcome the challenges of energy poverty.

The day is not far when Sindh will shine brightly, not only as a symbol of progress but also as a testament to the enduring efforts of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Sindh Government of the Pakistan People’s Party.
