Security forces successfully neutralized seven terrorists and injured five others in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing announced on Thursday. This operation reflects the ongoing commitment to eradicating terrorism in the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation took place on August 15, 2024, following intelligence reports about the presence of militants identified as Khwarij. The ISPR stated, “During the operation, our troops effectively targeted the Khwarij, resulting in the elimination of seven members of Fitna Al Khawarij, while five others were injured.”
In addition to neutralizing the terrorists, the operation also led to the discovery and dismantling of a militant hideout, where a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered.
The ISPR further highlighted that the eliminated militants were responsible for multiple attacks against security forces and innocent civilians. A sanitization operation was subsequently launched to ensure no remaining terrorists were left in the area, underscoring the security forces’ unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country.
Earlier in the week, a clash in South Waziristan resulted in the martyrdom of four soldiers and the killing of six terrorists during an exchange of fire, as reported by the military’s media wing on Tuesday night.
