Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, on Tuesday, honored national hero and Olympian gold medallist Arshad Nadeem with a cheque of Rs100 million and a Honda Civic car featuring the special number plate “PAK 92.97.” The ceremony took place at Nadeem’s home village in Mian Channu, where the CM personally delivered the rewards, surpassing the previously announced prize by adding the car as a special gift.

In addition to this, Maryam Nawaz presented a cheque of Rs5 million to Nadeem’s coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, in recognition of his efforts in training the champion. She praised both the athlete and his coach for their contributions to the country’s sports.

Arshad Nadeem, who made history on August 8 with a record-breaking 92.97 meters javelin throw, ending Pakistan’s 40-year-long gold medal drought, received a warm reception from the Punjab CM. Maryam Nawaz also met with Nadeem’s mother, Razia Parveen, congratulating her on her son’s remarkable achievement.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Special Assistant to CM Zeeshan Malik, and MPA Sania Ashiq.

Additionally, Nadeem visited renowned scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel at the Mian Channu Tableeghi Markaz, where he received a reward of Rs0.5 million from the scholar.
