President Asif Ali Zardari has directed that Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s javelin star, be awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz—the second-highest civilian honor in Pakistan—for his extraordinary performance at the Paris Olympics 2024. The Aiwan-e-Sadr released a statement on Saturday confirming that President Zardari will present the award in a special ceremony, recognizing Nadeem’s distinguished contributions to sports.
Following the president’s directive, a formal request has been sent to the Cabinet Division to proceed with the award. The letter from the Aiwan-e-Sadr emphasizes Nadeem’s outstanding achievements on the global stage, which have brought immense pride to the nation and elevated Pakistan’s stature in athletics.
The Hilal-e-Imtiaz will be conferred under Article 259(2) of the Constitution, which empowers the President to honor citizens for their valuable contributions across various fields.
