Petrol and diesel prices are expected to increase from Dec 1

Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to see an increase from December 1, 2024, due to a recent uptick in international oil prices, though this may be tempered by global market trends later in the week.

  • Petrol Price Increase: The price of petrol is projected to rise by Rs3 per litre, from the current Rs248.38 per litre to Rs251.38 per litre. This increase is based on the price adjustments observed over the last 12 days of the current fortnight.
  • Diesel Price Increase: Similarly, the price of diesel is expected to rise by Rs2.87 per litre, moving from Rs255.14 per litre to Rs258.01 per litre.

Despite these projected increases, officials anticipate a potential decline in global oil prices in the coming days, particularly due to the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire. If global prices do decrease as expected, the local price hike may be avoided or adjusted accordingly.
