On Friday, Pakistan Women’s captain Nida Dar became the highest wicket-taker in women’s T20 cricket during the second T20 international against England at County Ground, Northampton.
Pakistan lost the three-match series after being defeated by England by 65 runs.Last month,
Nida Dar became the second Pakistani bowler to take 100 ODI wickets. In this match, she surpassed Australian Megan Schutt by taking two wickets for 33 runs in her four overs.
Dar had been on the brink of this milestone during Pakistan’s home series against the West Indies and went wicketless in the first match against England.

England chose to bat first and scored 144 in 20 overs, with contributions from Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, and Nat Sciver-Brunt. They scored 48 runs in the power play and lost Bouchier at 66 after the halfway mark. Sciver-Brunt hit six fours in her 21-ball innings at a strike rate of 147. Daniel Gibson added 18 runs in nine balls with two fours and a six.
Dar’s record-breaking wicket came when she dismissed Amy Jones on the first ball of the last over.
In their response, Pakistan started slowly and lost their first wicket at eight runs. Sidra Ameen, Aliya Riaz, and Muneeba Ali were the only players to score in double figures. Sophie Ecclestone was the standout bowler for England, taking three wickets in three overs.
