The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that Karachi may experience another spell of light rain, continuing the pattern of sporadic drizzle and light showers the city has seen over the past week. These intermittent showers have been accompanied by occasional gaps in rainfall.
On Monday, the temperature in Karachi dropped to 26.5°C, with the maximum expected to reach between 30-32°C, according to the PMD. The humidity level was recorded at 92%, while wind speeds from the west ranged between 14 and 24 kilometers per hour during the morning hours.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated that the weather is expected to remain pleasant throughout the week, with intermittent drizzling and light rain likely to persist. He also predicted another spell of monsoon rain in Sindh, beginning on August 18, which could bring downpours to various parts of the province.
Early Sunday morning, areas in Karachi including Mauripur Road, Lyari, Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulshan-e-Jamal, Rashid Minhas Road, Sharea Faisal, Korangi, and their surrounding regions received light rain, further contributing to the city’s pleasant weather.
The Met Office had earlier indicated on August 8 that strong monsoon currents were expected to penetrate from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal into various parts of the country until August 12.
