In a move aimed at fostering economic growth, the cabinet approved visa-free entry for investors, entrepreneurs, and residents from 126 countries, highlighting this as a pivotal step to attract foreign investment and boost economic activities. Prime Minister Sharif underscored the significance of these measures in opening Pakistan’s doors to tourists and businesspeople, envisioning accelerated economic development as a result.
Furthermore, the cabinet endorsed the establishment of special courts under the SECP Act of 1997 to streamline legal proceedings related to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. Additionally, an MoU between Pakistan and Denmark was approved to strengthen bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed grave concern over the recent surge in terrorist activities, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, mourning the loss of eight soldiers and police personnel. He attributed these attacks to an orchestrated conspiracy against Pakistan and reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and promoting regional peace and stability.
Addressing international relations, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s role in advocating for Palestine at international forums and addressed recent attacks on Pakistani embassies in Germany and London, emphasizing the government’s swift response to ensure embassy security.
Regarding economic policies, he discussed the recent staff-level agreement with the IMF, acknowledging economic hardships faced by the populace and affirming efforts to steer the country towards economic recovery.
