In another disturbing case of animal cruelty, a landlord in Muzaffargarh allegedly mutilated a donkey by severing its legs as punishment for trespassing into his field in search of water.
The incident occurred in Jatoi Tehsil, where the landlord reportedly used a hoe to amputate the donkey’s legs. The local police took action following a complaint from the donkey’s owner and arrested the suspect, initiating a case against him.
The injured donkey received medical assistance from the Livestock Department. This incident adds to a series of animal abuse cases reported across Pakistan in recent months.
Previously, an influential individual in Rawalpindi was reported to have mutilated a female donkey by cutting off its ears, citing similar reasons for farm intrusion in the Rawat area. In another incident, a landlord in Sindh’s Sanghar area was involved in severing a female camel’s leg for analogous reasons. Authorities in Sindh arrested five individuals implicated in this act, and the injured camel was transported to Karachi for treatment.
