In a shocking incident reported by Press Tonight, five to six armed robbers dressed in police uniforms executed a heist on GT Road, stealing cellphones, cash, and a pickup truck loaded with persimmons.
The robbers managed to seize three mobile phones, a substantial amount of cash, and 400 cartons of the fruit before fleeing towards Peshawar in a black vehicle.
Zahir Muhammad, the driver of the pickup, recounted the incident to the police, explaining that he was transporting the persimmons from Shangla to the fruit market in Peshawar when the armed individuals, posing as police officers, halted them near the Taru Jabba Police checkpost.
Believing them to be legitimate law enforcement, Muhammad stopped the vehicle, allowing the robbers to snatch the cash and mobile phones from the traders. The incident unfolded as the robbers chased and intercepted their pickup near a police barricade on the main GT Road within the jurisdiction of Pabbi Police Station.
