The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is set to approve a $200 million loan this year for Pakistan’s Power Distribution Strengthening Project. The project aims to modernize electricity distribution systems in key regions, focusing on Hyderabad, Sukkur, Multan, and Lahore Electric Supply Companies.
This initiative will upgrade outdated infrastructure, reduce technical losses, and enhance revenue collection. It also includes climate-resilient strategies and improved governance, aligning with Pakistan’s goal of reducing circular debt. The project is expected to boost power supply reliability and provide significant benefits to underserved communities.
