The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Shahzad, 10-year-old Fiza, eight-year-old Mehak, 12-year-old Faizan, and six-year-old Sufyan. The injured has been identified as 15-year-old Noor, daughter of Riasat.
Road accidents frequently result in fatalities in Punjab. On Sunday, a truck overturning on a highway near Khairpur killed at least five people and injured 14 others. High fatality rates in road accidents are often attributed to poor driving skills, lack of safety measures, failure to wear seatbelts, and deteriorating road infrastructure. Overcrowded buses and trucks also contribute to these tragic incidents.
