Karachi, November 2024 – The Sindh cabinet has approved a series of significant financial allocations and developmental initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and governance in the province.
Road Repair and Infrastructure Development
The provincial cabinet has sanctioned Rs6.63 billion for the reconstruction of six damaged roads across Sindh. This initiative is expected to enhance the province’s road infrastructure, ensuring better connectivity and improved travel for residents and businesses.
Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) Funding
In another key move, the cabinet approved Rs232.14 million for the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA Sukkur) to re-conduct the Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT). This allocation will help facilitate the smooth organization and execution of the entrance exams for prospective medical and dental students across the province.
Establishment of Sindh Job Portal
The cabinet also gave its approval for the establishment of a Sindh Job Portal, aimed at creating a centralized platform for job seekers and employers in the province. This initiative is expected to streamline recruitment processes and improve access to employment opportunities for Sindh’s workforce.
E-Stamping System and IT Developments
In a push towards modernizing government operations, the cabinet directed the provincial IT department to implement an e-stamping system within the next six months. The initiative will digitize the property transaction process, improving efficiency and transparency in legal and property-related matters.
Extension for Khairpur Medical College Faculty
The cabinet approved an extension of the contract period for teaching faculty members at the Khairpur Medical College, ensuring the continuity of high-quality education and teaching services at the institution.
