The Saudi government has alerted the public about the extreme heat expected during the Hajj season next month
The head of the Saudi National Centre of Meteorology stated that this year’s Hajj season, spanning from June 24 to 29, will coincide with the hottest period of the year.
Ghulam, speaking at a recent workshop on the climate impact on the 2024 pilgrimage, emphasized the importance of coordinating with relevant agencies to inform them of weather forecasts at the holy sites to enable necessary precautions.

Saudi authorities are bracing for potentially record-breaking attendance, following a surge in Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan. Pakistani pilgrims have been arriving in Madinah for pre-Hajj flight operations since May 9.
As per the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a total of 28,743 Pakistani pilgrims had reached Madinah on 120 flights by Tuesday.
This year, approximately 2.5 million devotees from around the globe, including 179,210 from Pakistan, are expected to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage is scheduled to occur from June 14-19 this year.
