On Saturday, Russian Consul General Viktorovich extended Russia’s offer to assist in reviving the Steel Mills in Karachi. This announcement was made during an event organized by the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations, which focused on Pakistan-Russia relations.
The Consul General highlighted Russia’s longstanding commitment to promoting peace in South Asia. He pointed to the establishment of Pakistan Steel Mills as a historical symbol of cooperation between the two nations, a project initiated during the era of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Viktorovich also noted that Pakistan was the first country with which Russia collaborated on diplomatic visas. He emphasized that despite the political changes in Pakistan, with three different governments over the past three years, diplomatic relations between the two countries have remained stable.
In his address, Viktorovich stressed the need for serious commitment from the Pakistani government and administration to revive the Pakistan Steel Mills. He mentioned the significant progress made in various sectors of cooperation between Pakistan and Russia, underscoring the potential for further collaboration.
