Punjab Chief Minister Approves Surplus Budget for Housing Agency

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has greenlit a surplus budget of Rs34.73 billion for the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) for the current fiscal year, as reported by The News.

During the 99th meeting of the PHATA Governing Body, which she chaired on Sunday, the chief minister was informed that projected receipts are estimated at Rs17 billion, while expenditures are anticipated to be around Rs13.55 billion.

In addition, the chief minister endorsed the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program. Relevant authorities reported that 544,000 individuals have registered on the portal, with 280,000 applications submitted for house construction under the initiative. There are currently over 76,000 draft applications awaiting processing.

Maryam Nawaz has instructed PHATA officials to develop a plan for completing the housing project in partnership with the private sector and has authorized them to sign agreements for this collaboration.
