Presence of TTP in Afghanistan: A Constant Threat to Pakistan

Foreign Secretary Syrus Sajjad Qazi has highlighted the ongoing threat posed by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operating from Afghanistan, according to a report by Presstonight. Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by Hina Rabbani Khar, Qazi emphasized that numerous terrorist organizations, including TTP, are using Afghan territory for their operations.

He pointed out that the attack on Chinese citizens in Dasu was orchestrated from Afghanistan. Qazi noted that since the Afghan Taliban’s takeover, anti-Pakistan activities have escalated. Despite Pakistan’s repeated concerns and evidence presented regarding the TTP, the threat persists. Moreover, by July 22, 2024, 664,000 illegal Afghan citizens have returned to Afghanistan, further complicating the situation.
