PMD Forecasts Hot and Humid Weather for Karachi

Karachi residents should prepare for hot and humid weather over the next 24 hours, as forecasted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

  • Temperature: Expected to range between 35°C and 36°C.
  • Humidity: Recorded at 58%.
  • Sea Breeze: Blowing at 18 kilometers per hour.
  • Sky Conditions: Partly cloudy skies, with rain predicted for next week.
  • Recent Temperature: The minimum temperature in the last 24 hours was recorded at 31°C, making the first night of July the hottest since 2021.

Monthly Temperature Forecast

The PMD has forecast that normal temperatures in July will average around 27.9°C.

Safety Precautions

Due to the rising temperature, health experts recommend the following precautions:

  • Food and Drink: Consume homemade food and drinks, and avoid those from outside eateries to prevent gastrointestinal issues.
  • Water: Boil water before drinking and use oral rehydration solutions (ORS) to prevent salt deficiency.
  • Sun Protection: Avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, especially between 11 AM and 3 PM.
  • Clothing: Wear light-colored, loose clothing and cover your head when going outside.
