Pakistan’s Chief Justice Leads Meeting to Tackle Tax Case Backlog

On Thursday, Pakistan’s Chief Justice chaired a meeting aimed at addressing the growing backlog of tax cases before the Supreme Court, as reported by Presstonight. The meeting was attended by representatives from the tax bar and the legal team of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Islamabad.

The discussions focused on key issues, procedural improvements, and strategies to expedite the resolution of tax-related cases. The Chief Justice informed the attendees that dedicated benches would be established to hear tax cases, stressing the importance of categorizing cases effectively and minimizing adjournments to speed up proceedings.

The representatives of the tax bar expressed their full support for the proposed measures and thanked the court for taking steps to address the delays. These discussions highlight the Supreme Court’s commitment to improving institutional processes, ensuring timely justice, and enhancing case management for the benefit of all citizens.
