Pakistan Rejects Talks with TTP, Clarifies Stance on Engagement with China

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has firmly reiterated its stance that no dialogue is taking place with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), emphasizing that both Pakistan and China have no agenda for engaging with the terrorist group.

Addressing a weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated, “First of all, there is no dialogue taking place between the government of Pakistan and TTP.” She further stressed that Pakistan’s position on the matter has been “very clear” and repeatedly stated.

Baloch added, “The proposals to initiate talks with TTP, wherever they may come from, are an affront to the families of thousands of victims of terrorism.” She condemned any such attempts, underscoring that the government remains resolute in its stance against engaging with the militant group.

The spokesperson also clarified that “there is no such proposal on the agenda between Pakistan and China with regards to engagement with TTP,” effectively putting to rest any speculation about such discussions.
