Pakistan Marks the Longest Day of the Year: Summer Solstice

Today, Pakistan, along with the rest of the Northern Hemisphere, observes the longest day of the year as the north pole tilts closest to the sun. Known as the summer solstice, this event marks a pivotal change in the seasons and occurs twice annually, signifying the year’s longest and shortest days.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the summer solstice typically falls on June 20 or 21, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it occurs in December. For residents of countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, China, Australia, and India, the summer solstice heralds the longest day and shortest night of the year. Following this day, the length of daylight will gradually begin to decrease.
