ISLAMABAD: In a strong statement on Thursday, Pakistan’s foreign office condemned Israel’s actions of sending a container with 88 decomposed bodies of unidentified Palestinians to Gaza. The bodies, which Gaza Strip authorities refused to bury without clear information on how and where they were killed, arrived in a truck via an Israel-controlled crossing, with no details provided about the victims.

This situation follows Israel’s military operation launched in response to a Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023. The conflict, which has claimed over 43,000 lives, including many women and children, continues to escalate.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch described the act as a violation of international humanitarian law, demanding Israel disclose the identities of the deceased and ensure a dignified return of their remains to their families. She further urged the global community to hold Israel accountable for its “war crimes.”
