On Wednesday, Pakistan condemned the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep shock, criticizing the timing of the act, which coincided with the inauguration of Iran’s President—a significant event attended by international dignitaries, including Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister.
The statement highlighted Pakistan’s stance against terrorism in all forms, including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings, and extended condolences to Haniyeh’s family and the people of Palestine. It also voiced serious concern over what it described as dangerous Israeli adventurism, which it believes escalates regional tensions and undermines peace efforts.
