A delegation from the Entrepreneurs Organisation met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where they discussed and agreed upon the formation of a high-level committee to address industry-related challenges. Ali Alam Qamar has been appointed as the focal person for this initiative
During the meeting, various suggestions and recommendations were reviewed, including measures to provide low-cost electricity to Punjab’s industries. A proposal was also considered for delivering cheaper electricity through the installation of a direct transmission line.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also directed a crackdown on sellers of substandard Iranian oil operating through illegal pumps.
The industrialists conveyed their commitment to achieving a GDP target of $300 billion for Punjab. In response, the chief minister expressed her desire for sustainable relief in electricity bills for the industry.
