KWSC Pumping Station at Dhabeji Shut Down Due to Power Breakdown

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (KWSC) pumping station at Dhabeji experienced a shutdown on Sunday due to a sudden power breakdown

A spokesperson for the KWSC explained that the shutdown was caused by a cable fault and technical malfunction attributed to K-Electric (KE), which affected Phase 3 of the pumping station. While KE managed to restore Phase 3, Phase 4 subsequently malfunctioned. Even after both phases were restored, another unexpected power breakdown occurred due to a changeover by KE.

The spokesperson further noted that the breakdown impacted the 72-inch MS Line No. 5. According to the chief engineer of the water corporation, repairs on the affected line are expected to be completed within the next 24 hours, although rain may pose additional challenges.
