Karachiites Warned of Heavy to Moderate Rain as Cyclone Asna Moves Away from Sindh’s Coastal Belt

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a cyclone alert, warning residents of Karachi to prepare for heavy to moderate rainfall as Cyclone Asna moves further away from Sindh’s coastal areas.

According to the latest update from PMD on Saturday, the cyclonic storm has moved further westward and is now positioned approximately 200 kilometers from Karachi, 220 kilometers from Ormara, and 380 kilometers from Gwadar. The system is expected to continue tracking west-southwestwards towards the coastal belt of Balochistan and then towards Oman.

However, the storm is likely to weaken and dissipate in the sea, eliminating any risk of landfall on any coast, as confirmed by the Met Office in the alert.
