The Karachi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic diversion plan for the Muharram processions scheduled to take place in the city from the 8th to the 10th of Muharram, PressTonight reported on Saturday.

Key Details:
- Road Closures: MA Jinnah Road will be closed from Guru Mandir to Tower. Only vehicles with permits will be allowed on this road.
- Primary Procession: Starting from Nishtar Park, ending at Imambargah Hussainian Iranian in Kharadar.
Traffic Diversion:
- District Central: Traffic from Nazimabad will be diverted to Nishtar Road and Garden via Lasbela Chowk. Vehicles from Liaquatabad will be redirected to Lasbela Chowk via Teen Hatti.
- District East: Traffic towards Naumaish Chowrangi from Sharea Faisal can proceed via Kashmir Road and Society Light Signal. Vehicles from Central Jail gate (Jamshed Road) will be diverted towards Guru Mandir and Bahadur Yar Jung Road.
- District South: Vehicles from Garden Zoo to MA Jinnah Road will be redirected via Ankle Saria, Gul Plaza, and Holy Family Hospital.
Heavy Traffic:
- Super Highway and Gulberg Traffic: Will be diverted from Liaquatabad No-10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No-2, Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, Shershah to Mauripur.
- National Highway Traffic: Will be allowed through Highway Faisal, Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, Hassan Square, Liaquatabad No. 10, Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, and Habib Bank Flyover.
Participants’ Routes:
- Nazimabad and Lasbella: Via Soldier Bazar No 3 Light Signal to Naumaish.
- Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal: Via University Road, Purani Sabzi Mandi, Kashmir Road, Society Light Signal to Naumaish.
Vehicles joining the procession for Sabeel, Niaz, or Tabrak Taqeem will only be allowed to enter via Tower and Memon Mosque. No parking will be permitted on the procession route.
