KARACHI: Brace yourselves, Karachiites! The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast the possibility of heavy rains and thunderstorms in parts of the port city today (Monday).
For the next 24 hours, Karachi’s weather is expected to remain cloudy with a 92% humidity ratio in the air and light sea winds blowing. The maximum temperature in the city is likely to range between 30°C to 32°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27°C, according to the PMD.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz revealed that intermittent rain is expected throughout the day and night in Karachi due to low atmospheric pressure near western Sindh. “There is a possibility of cloudy and light rain or drizzle in the city tomorrow (Tuesday) as well. Another monsoon system may enter eastern Sindh,” he added.
He also mentioned that a monsoon system might enter the region from India’s Rajasthan on August 10 or 11, potentially bringing rain to affected areas on August 12 or 13.
Following recent rains, Karachi’s weather has taken a pleasant turn, providing residents with much-needed relief from the persistent heat.
