Government and PSEB to Establish 10,000 E-Rozgar Centres for Freelancers

The government, in collaboration with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), plans to establish around 10,000 e-Rozgar centres nationwide to support freelancers.

“E-Rozgar centres already set up by the government offer top-notch facilities for freelancers, including high-speed internet, UPS, training centres, individual cabins, meeting rooms, and separate office spaces for startups,” stated an official from the Ministry of Information Technology (IT).

The official highlighted that the government has successfully enabled a substantial number of the 1.5 million existing freelancers, along with new freelancers, to work independently at minimal costs.

With the completion of this major project, IT exports are expected to increase by $10 billion annually. These centres, established through public-private partnerships, will significantly enhance the capacity and income of freelancers.
