Gold Medallist Engineer Killed in Mugging Attempt in Karachi

Karachi Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects following the tragic killing of a gold medallist mechanical engineer during a mugging attempt in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, as reported by The News.

This incident has added to the grim statistic of deaths due to resistance during robberies in Karachi, with the toll reaching 71 this year. The victim, 27-year-old Irtaqa Moin, was attacked by robbers on Saturday evening in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7. The assailants fled with his motorcycle, mobile phone, and cash after fatally shooting him.

Irtaqa Moin was a distinguished graduate from Hamdard University, holding a gold medal in mechanical engineering. He was employed at a private company and was pursuing an MBA. Moin had married just a year ago, adding to the sorrow of his untimely death. His funeral prayers were held at Jamia Sattaria near Nipa Chowrangi, attended by a large number of relatives, friends, and community members.
