COAS General Asim Munir Highlights the Legacy of National Unity and Bravery on 59th Defence and Martyrs Day

On the eve of the 59th Defence and Martyrs Day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir emphasized the vital role of Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the nation. In his message, the COAS paid tribute to the valiant efforts of the forces in controlling the menace of terrorism with unparalleled bravery.

General Munir reflected on the significance of September 6, a day that marks the country’s defense during the 1965 War. He noted that the armed forces successfully thwarted the enemy’s malevolent intentions, with the spirit of national unity during that time continuing to be a source of pride for the nation.

Highlighting the ongoing commitment of the forces, the COAS stated that they remain vigilant in defending the country’s borders, driven by a profound sense of national unity and solidarity. He concluded by asserting that faith, taqwa (piety), and jihad in the way of Allah are the formidable weapons that empower the nation to confront its enemies.
