ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the party’s commitment to fulfilling the Charter of Democracy (CoD), particularly regarding judicial reforms. Speaking at the Parliament House, he described the day as monumental, aligning it with his mother’s unfinished mission.
Bilawal highlighted the significance of political consensus in achieving this goal, noting that all parties involved in discussions reached a compromise without any objectionable points in the proposed bill. He urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to support the amendment for national interest, despite their previous silence on the matter.
Praising Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) for their dedication to advancing the amendment, he stated that their efforts were aimed at upholding the integrity of the Constitution.
In a parliamentary party meeting, Bilawal instructed all PPP members to vote in favor of the constitutional amendment, emphasizing that adherence to party discipline is crucial. He made it clear that violations could lead to by-elections, underscoring the importance of unity within the party.
