Cristiano Ronaldo is set to break his international appearances record after being selected for Portugal’s Euro 2024 squad, and he feels proud of this achievement.
At 39, Ronaldo has made 206 appearances for Portugal, scoring 128 goals. Head coach Roberto Martinez included him in the 26-man squad for the tournament in Germany, running from June 14 to July 14. Ronaldo shared his excitement on Instagram with a photo in the new Portugal kit, captioned: “Proud to be back representing Portugal at Euro. Let’s go with it!”
This will be Ronaldo’s sixth European Championship, adding to his numerous records in the competition. He holds the records for the most editions played, most matches played (25), most goals scored (14), and will become the oldest player to participate in the Euros.
Portugal’s opening Group F match against the Czech Republic is on June 18.
