K Electric Seeks Fuel Charge Adjustment for April 2024

K-Electric (KE) has submitted a request for provisional adjustment of its fuel charges for April 2024, considering three different scenarios.

Key Highlights:

  • KE has proposed adjustments under three scenarios for April 2024.
  • Scenario I: FCA-reference interim, calculated at (Rs1.18) per unit, represents the difference between actual fuel costs and reference fuel costs.
  • Scenario II: FCA-reference monthly cost, calculated at Rs0.44 per unit, represents the difference between actual fuel costs and the fuel costs as per the tariff petition.
  • Scenario III: FCA-reference yearly average cost, calculated at (Rs0.74) per unit, represents the difference between actual fuel costs and the annual weighted average fuel costs of tariff petitions.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) will conduct a public hearing on June 12, 2024, to review and finalize its recommendations on KE’s FCA adjustment request.
