Interior Minister Orders Expedited Passport Issuance for Overseas Pakistanis

Taking notice of the delay in issuing passports to overseas Pakistanis, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed an expedited service for timely issuance of the documents.

During his visit to Nadra and passport centres in London, Naqvi instructed officials to issue urgent passports to overseas Pakistanis within seven days and normal passports within 30 days. He emphasized that this policy would apply to all Pakistani missions abroad, aiming to reduce the current issuance times of about four months for normal passports and one and a half months for urgent ones.

Naqvi declared that delays would no longer be tolerated, and action would be taken against the non-issuance of passports within the stipulated time. To ensure adherence, he established a monitoring cell headed by his Personal Staff Officer, ASP Shahrbano.

Overseas Pakistanis who do not receive their passports within the specified time can lodge a complaint at the email address: passport@interior.gov.pk, as reported by Presstonight.
