Sindh Government Accelerates Red Line and Yellow Line BRT Projects for Timely Completion

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed authorities to speed up construction work on the Red Line and Yellow Line BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) projects, which are expected to provide significant relief to the residents of Karachi. This directive came during a high-level meeting of the Department of Transport and Mass Transit, chaired by Memon, who also serves as the Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, Mass Transit, Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control.

The meeting, attended by key officials including Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Managing Director of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority Kamal Dayo, consultants, and contractors, focused on reviewing the progress of the ongoing BRT projects. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the urgency of expediting construction work, stating that these modern BRT systems are vital for providing affordable and efficient public transport to the city’s growing population.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon further stressed that there should be no compromise on the quality of work. The Sindh government’s goal, he said, is to offer low-cost and modern travel options to the public as quickly as possible. He urged all stakeholders to make every effort to complete both BRT projects ahead of schedule to maximize their benefits for the public.

The completion of the Red Line and Yellow Line BRTs will ease commute times for millions of Karachi residents, providing a faster and more reliable mode of transport. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon reiterated that these projects are a top priority for the Sindh government, and their successful and timely completion will significantly improve the city’s public transport infrastructure.
