Islamabad High Court Grants Judicial Remand for Imaan Mazari and Husband in Security Breach Case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has placed prominent human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband, advocate Haadi Ali Chatha, on judicial remand in connection with a “security breach” case. The decision came during a hearing led by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz, where the couple’s legal representation was provided by lawyers Qaiser Imam and Zainab Janjua.

During the proceedings, the prosecutor presented a request for remand and read the court order aloud. Chief Justice Farooq questioned the prosecutor about the appropriateness of the request, to which the law officer responded affirmatively. Following this exchange, the two-member bench declared the previous physical remand null and void and ordered that Mazari and Chatha be sent to jail on judicial remand.
