The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) in Sindh has distributed Rs 633.979 million to 60,379 eligible women across eight districts, including seven in Karachi Division and Hyderabad, as part of the Benazir Kafalat program’s first phase.
This initiative aims to empower women and support low-income families. Director General BISP Sindh, Zulfiqar Ali Sheikh, emphasized the transparent and efficient disbursement process conducted through camp sites without any deductions.
In total, 228,755 families in Karachi and Hyderabad received Rs 10,500 each as quarterly financial assistance, along with educational stipends for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2023-24. To facilitate these disbursements, 34 camp sites were set up in the districts, equipped with basic amenities like clean drinking water, seating, and shade.
The BISP administration also established a Task Force and a complaint cell at the Central Zone office in Karachi to address any grievances. Beneficiaries can contact the BISP helpline at 0800-26477 for support.
