Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved Rs1.5 billion for the repair of roads in Karachi that were damaged due to the heavy rains this year. The decision was made during a meeting held on Wednesday to assess the extent of the damage caused by the rainfall.

CM Shah also directed the Local Government Department to launch an inquiry into the roads that were either constructed or repaired after 2022 but have since deteriorated or been washed away. Expressing his dissatisfaction with the quality of some of the recent construction work, the chief minister stressed that substandard work would not be tolerated. He called for strict action against those responsible for failing to meet construction standards, underscoring the importance of accountability in public infrastructure projects.
