Sindh Government Facilitates Return of Pilgrims’ Bodies and Injured from Iran

In a compassionate response to a tragic incident in Iran, the Sindh Minister for Planning, Development, and Energy, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, announced that the bodies of Pakistani pilgrims who tragically lost their lives in the recent accident will be transported to Pakistan via a C-130 aircraft. The aircraft, arranged under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is set to arrive at Shahbaz Airport in Jacobabad shortly after midnight on Friday.

In a video statement released on Friday, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah expressed his deep sorrow over the incident and assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to facilitate the dignified return of the deceased to their native places. He emphasized that the Sindh government, acting on the instructions of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, worked closely with the Pakistani ambassador in Iran and Iranian authorities to ensure the swift repatriation of the bodies.

The minister further detailed the extensive preparations made by the Sindh government to support the bereaved families. Over 40 Rescue 1122 ambulances have been stationed at Jacobabad Airport to assist in the transportation of the bodies to their respective hometowns. Additionally, hospitals have been alerted and are on standby to receive the injured pilgrims who are also being brought back on the same C-130 aircraft. For those severely injured, air ambulances have been arranged to transport them to Karachi for urgent medical care.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, along with Chairman District Council Kumail Hyder Shah, reached Sukkur on Friday and is expected to depart for Jacobabad to personally oversee the arrival of the bodies and the injured pilgrims. The minister’s presence underscores the Sindh government’s commitment to ensuring that the families of the deceased and injured receive the utmost support during this difficult time.

This coordinated effort by the Sindh government, in collaboration with federal authorities, reflects a compassionate and efficient response to a national tragedy, ensuring that those affected receive the care and respect they deserve.
