Federal Government to Appoint IT Ministry Secretary from Private Sector, Bypassing Bureaucracy

The federal government has decided to recruit the Secretary of the Ministry of IT from the private sector instead of the traditional bureaucratic channels, according to Press Tonight. The Establishment Division has opened applications for eligible candidates, with a 15-day window for submission.

The position will be filled on a contract basis through a competitive selection process. Candidates must have relevant qualifications and a minimum of 20 years of experience in the IT and Telecom sector, with at least 12 years in a senior role.

The appointment, initially for two years with the possibility of extension, is available to individuals up to the age of 60. The selected candidate will receive a salary ranging between Rs1.5 million and Rs2 million under the Special Professional Pay Scale.
