A preliminary report by Iran’s military stated that no evidence of foul play or attack was found in the investigation of the helicopter crash that killed President Ebrahim Raisi, according to state media on Friday. The report from the armed forces’ general staff indicated that the helicopter “caught fire after hitting an elevated area” and showed no signs of “bullet holes” on the wreckage, as per the official IRNA news agency. The helicopter had been flying on a “pre-planned route and did not leave the designated flight path” before the crash, with no suspicious activity noted in communications between the watch tower and the flight crew.
