ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad administration has turned down Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request to hold a rally, citing security and public disruption concerns, as reported by Presstonight.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon highlighted that the capital hosts over 60 embassies and international organization offices, with diplomats and foreigners residing in various sectors and traveling daily. He stressed that protests and rallies would impede their movements.
Furthermore, Memon noted that approximately 500,000 citizens commute daily to Islamabad for work or education. Allowing the protest would infringe on their fundamental rights by disrupting their daily commute.
