Monsoon Rains Affect Karachi, More Expected in Coming Days

KARACHI – On Tuesday, Karachi experienced light to moderate rainfall in several areas, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Federal B Area, Saddar, Clifton, Gulistan-e-Johar, University Road, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Keamari, Liaquatabad, and Gurumandir. This rain was driven by monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecasted continued rainfall in the central and southern parts of Pakistan until August 3. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms in Karachi for the day.

The chief meteorologist has indicated that Karachi could see significant rainfall by the afternoon, with the current weather system expected to move out of Sindh by late evening.

Looking ahead, from August 4, intense monsoon winds are anticipated to move into eastern Sindh. The period from August 4 to 6 may bring heavy and torrential rain across most parts of Sindh, including Karachi, with substantial rainfall expected during this time.
