Rise in Terror Attacks Claims 217 Policemen’s Lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Since January 2023, 217 policemen have been martyred in various attacks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, amid a surge in terror incidents

Most fatalities occurred in Peshawar, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan districts. Dera Ismail Khan, the hometown of the KP governor and chief minister, has faced severe law and order challenges in recent years.

In 2022, the total number of police casualties was 175. This year, 42 policemen have lost their lives. Notably, over 85 policemen were martyred in a single attack on the Peshawar Police headquarters in January last year.
